Youth in Action

Youth development is a process of helping young people develop the skills and connections they need to reach their potential and participate in society. Some aspects of youth development include:

Positive youth development programs help young people build character, self-esteem, and social, behavioral, and emotional competence. PYD programs also engage young people in productive ways and recognize their strengths.

Empowering youth voices: Youth development efforts focus on amplifying the voices of young people and encouraging their participation in decision-making processes.

Youth engagement and empowerment: Engaging youth in community development, active citizenship can help them develop a sense of ownership and empowerment.

Commitment to civic engagement: Youth development programs can involve young people in the design of programs and services that affect their lives.

 

OSVSWA has been working on the issue of volunteerism and action for youth since its inception.  OSVSWA has a good presence across the country with many projects and programs on youth in action. It has a nos of volunteers youth force, and interns which is the core strength of the organization to implement the youth in action projects on any domain.

OSVSWA as a certified hosting organization to host EUAID Volunteers (by the European Commission DGECHO) and also the certified with Quality Level to host Humanitarian Aid Volunteers under the European Solidarity Corps (supported by the European Commission EACEA) carryout series of projects since 2012 and hosing nos. of volunteers under these projects in collaboration with various European NGO partners.

Besides, OSVSWA has experience in the Capacity Building of Youths programs under KA2-Capacity Building for Youth, ACAPLA, EVS, EuropeAID and various youth in action projects of the European Commission EACEA. OSVSWA has been implementing a series of projects and programs under these categories.
